Welcome, Kabul Beauty School readers!

By now you should have read up through Chapter 6 of the memoir.

Your assignment for today is fairly simple.  On your student page, write a summary of Chapters 5 and 6 (make sure you clearly label your work!). 

Then, look through some other student pages for Kabul Beauty School.  At the bottom of each page, you will see a comment box.  Add two comments to any of the assignments for this book.  You can agree or disagree with something a student wrote, but please do not write negative personal comments.

Finally, make sure that your page is complete.  At this point you should have:

     1.  A journal entry reaction to the first background article you read.

     2.  A journal entry reaction to Section 1 of the memoir.

     3.  A journal entry reaction to the article about the "factual flaws" in A Long Way Gone.

4.  Five discussions questions for Section 2 of the memoir.

     5.  A summary of Section 3 of the memoir.

     6.  Two comments on other student pages.

Leftover time?  Here are some things you can/should consider before you do anything else:

• Check out the extra credit film project.
• Go to www.freerice.com , work on your vocabulary skills, and donate rice to the UN World Food Bank!
• Work on your zine (create an outline, develop ideas, gather visuals, type journal entries, etc.)
• Work on the final draft of your Othello essay (was due yesterday).
• Read Section 4 of your book (due Thursday).
